Senior Loan Officer at Business Center for New Americans
Juan González is a Senior Loan Officer, managing a diversified portfolio of business loans and client relationships. He is committed to building strong relationship with business owners to help them thrive and create a positive impact in their communities.
He started his career in financial management and administration, consulting with the Department of Housing for a local government about federal grants in Puerto Rico. He then moved to a technology consulting firm, where he served as an accountant and supported business development efforts to expand the firm's operations. While at Banco Popular de Puerto Rico, he structured, underwrote, and assigned risk ratings of over $165MM for construction loans for affordable, market-rate, and high-end housing projects, as well as participating in drafting the revision of the bank's credit policy for construction loans. Most recently he worked as a consultant for Oscar de la Renta, working with the noted fashion designer and retailer's finance and human resources departments.
He has an MBA in Finance and a BA in Accounting from the InterAmerican University of Puerto Rico, and has done post-graduate studies in Project Management at the Universidad del Turabo of Puerto Rico.
