Adam G. Guttell is a principal in the Long Island, New York, office of Jackson Lewis
P.C. His practice focuses on representing employers in workplace law matters,
including preventive advice and counseling.

Adam advises and represents employers in a broad range of employment law
matters, including those involving discrimination and harassment, wage and hour,
wrongful termination, and retaliation claims. He also advises and trains managers
and supervisors on preventive litigation practices, focusing on how to comply with
applicable laws and regulations, avoid workplace disputes, resolve employee
relations problems, and satisfy legitimate employee expectations.

Adam’s practice also involves preparation and enforcement of restrictive covenants.
He actively litigates restrictive covenant matters, including breaches of noncompetition,
non-solicitation and confidentiality agreements.

James Venia is a seasoned SBA 504 and 7a lender with Over 10 years of experience assisting small businesses as they start, operate and expand As a Vice President at Pursuit (formerly NYBDC), his role is comprised of being an SBA Commercial Lender, Business Development Officer and Commercial Credit Analyst rolled into a single position.

His background includes significant SBA 7A and 504 lending experience with over $70 million in capital provided to Small businesses across NYS, NJ and PA. Prior to joining Pursuit in 2016, he worked within the Division of Economic and Financial Opportunity (DEFO) at the NYC Dept of Small Business Service, where he was able to gain substantial expertise with assisting minority and woman business enterprises (MWBE) in identifying and bidding on City, State and Federal government contracting opportunities.
