Dr. Letts is an immigrant from the island of Jamaica, a US military veteran, and has experience as an architect, electrical engineer, and business specialist under contract from the US Dept. of Defense and US Small Business Administration. He joined the DOB in 2020 after 26 years in the private sector providing Sustainable Design consulting. He is a recognized leader in the energy efficiency and sustainable design industry with detailed experience in sustainable design, energy modeling, energy audits, commissioning, environmental awareness, and regulatory development for energy codes and green buildings. He has supported the ESG and AEC communities for years by developing and delivering training seminars related to sustainable design, energy efficiency and energy code for organizations like Harvard Graduate School of Design, NYC Department of Buildings, NYSERDA, and Urban Green Council.
