Jim Quent Partner at Statewide Public Affairs Jim Quent, a Partner at Statewide Public Affairs, has 30 years of experience in the mechanics of New York City, State and local governments, legislative and regulatory processes, procurement, public policy, communications and politics. Jim’s diverse array of clients include Coalition for the Homeless, Coca-Cola, Home Depot, IBM, Metropolitan College of NY, National Restaurant Association and the NYC Special Riggers Association, just to name a few. Every day is different. What remains a constant is the need to maintain relationships with elected officials, staff, city agencies, community groups, business organizations and other advocacy groups. Jim’s strength is in building coalitions of like-minded people to focus on a particular policy, regulatory or budgetary matter to achieve his clients’ goals. Over the years, Jim has secured much-needed food pantry and eviction prevention funding for people in dire need of assistance. He has also tackled an array of policy issues for his non-profit and for-profit clients. Jim works closely with the Department of Buildings to promote construction worker safety and improve day-to-day operations related to code compliance, permitting and licensing. He also works with the Mayor’s administration and NYC Council on key policy issues in the tech, small business and sustainability arenas. Personally, he’s proud to have been appointed to the Red Cross Long Island Board of Directors and serve as a Red Cross Disaster Action Team volunteer assisting people affected by fires, storms and flooding. He also serves on the Board of the Long Island American Red Cross, is a Red Cross Disaster Action Team volunteer and a member of the Suffolk County Medical Response Corps.
