Emma Cornell Clinical Research Program Manager at Northwell Heath’s Center for Gun Violence Prevention Emma is the Clinical Research Program Manager at Northwell Heath’s Center for Gun Violence Prevention. Emma’s portfolio spans more than half a dozen active qualitative and quantitative research projects, with the primary aim to help further the evidence base for firearm injury prevention strategies across all levels of healthcare systems. Emma holds an MPH from Columbia’s Mailman School of Public Health, where she pursued a specialized course in injury and violence prevention, focusing on firearm injury prevention. Prior to joining Northwell, Emma gained invaluable experience in diverse community and research settings. Her previous positions included serving as a volunteer EMT and working to improve access to educational resources for incarcerated populations, while her previous research has examined the psychosocial impacts of trauma among survivors of campus sexual assault and assessed caregiver perspectives on lethal means counselling for youth experiencing acute mental health crises.

Dr. Claudine Higdon Northwell Health Claudine Higdon, MD is the Physician-in-Charge of the Child and Adolescent Outpatient Psychiatry Department at The Zucker Hillside Hospital/Northwell Health and an Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra-Northwell. Dr. Higdon grew up in Queens, NY. She received her B.A. degree from Barnard College and then pursued her medical education at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons. Dr. Higdon completed her adult psychiatry residency and her child psychiatry fellowship training at the Long Island Jewish Medical Center - Albert Einstein College of Medicine Program. She is board certified in adult psychiatry and child and adolescent psychiatry. Dr. Higdon enjoys cooking, exercising, watching her son play hockey, and spending time with her Maine Coon cat.

Anisa Toppin Athletic Coordinator at Variety Boys and Girls Club of Queens I am Anisa Toppin, currently serving as the Athletic Coordinator at the Variety Boys and Girls Club of Queens. During my undergraduate years at North Carolina A&T State University, I was a full scholarship student athlete but also discovered my passion for the administrative aspect of athletics. This led me to pursue a master's degree in Sports Administration. I have gained coaching experience at both the high school and Division 1 college level, and I have also interned for the Buffalo Sabres in their Game Presentation department My ultimate goal is to become an Athletic Director at a Division 1 power 5 school and eventually earn a Doctorate in Sports Management. During my free time, I enjoy crocheting, working out, and spending time with friends and family.
