About 610,000 people die of heart disease in the United States every year. Heart disease is the leading cause of death for people of most ethnicities in the United States. To learn more about heart disease and it's risk join us as Dr. Michael Goyfman shares cause, effect and prevention.
We're also aware accidents can happen anytime and anywhere. What makes these more dangerous is that they come at the most unexpected occasions and unless there is someone around with the proper knowledge to provide immediate medical attention. Following our conversation with Dr. Goyfman, Northwell' Nursing Education team will provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation training, better known as CPR.
These matters of the heart are important and this session will equip you with critical information and adequate demonstration so you too can save lives.

Dr. Goyfman received his medical degree from SUNY-Stony Brook University School of Medicine. He subsequently completed his internal medicine residency and cardiology fellowship as part of a research track at Stony Brook University Medical Center. He also earned his Master of Public Health at Stony Brook during that time. Dr. Goyfman’s research focuses on noninvasive cardiac imaging and heart failure, and he has published several articles in those fields.
He is currently the Director of Clinical Cardiology at LIJ Forest Hills Hospital, Northwell Health. He is board certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiology, Echocardiography, and Nuclear Cardiology.
