Event Details

Each year the Queens Chamber of Commerce hosts a forum with the Borough President to give our members the opportunity to hear directly from their elected representatives about the issues impacting the Queens business community. As we are now in the midst of a campaign for Borough President, the Chamber is instead hosting a discussion with candidates titled The Future of Business in Queens: A Discussion with Candidates for Borough President, Hosted by the Queens Chamber of Commerce.

All declared candidates have been invited to participate. This is your chance to hear directly from the people who want to represent you and serve as your next Borough President about the issues directly impacting businesses in our borough.

Moderator

Ruschell Boone is a 3 time Emmy nominated and award-winning Reporter and Anchor at Spectrum News NY1. In 2018, she became a General Assignment Reporter for the station's "Live at Ten" newscast. This year she received 2 Emmy nominations for her work on the show, including 1 for "Best General Assignment Reporter." Her exclusive interview with Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, after her stunning Democratic primary win, is a viral sensation. It was seen and heard around the world. The interview is now featured in the Netflix documentary "Knock Down the House."

You can call Ruschell Boone the people's reporter. Her dynamic and engaging live presence has become her signature at NY1.

Among her vast portfolio of notable interviews, some of her most memorable include her conversation with Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez after a stunning New York Democratic primary win, and her coverage of the notorious Jamaican drug lord Christopher Coke. More so, her exclusive solo interview with Abu Bakr, the husband of an unsuccessful terrorist, just hours after the FBI raided his home in Queens, made national and international headlines.

Ruschell is a die-hard New Yorker who grew up in the Bronx and Queens, but her Jamaican roots and love of family are still strong.

Ruschell and her husband are among the many met-at-NY1 marriages. She met a coworker that caught her eye, flash forward, and they are now married with two kids! Talk about a New York love story.
