Irene Scalfani Director of Development at Tiegerman
Irene Scalfani Director of Development at Tiegerman I am excited to share with my friends and former colleagues that after 25+ years in the financial services industry I am now the Director of Development for Tiegerman - an education and life program for children and young adults with developmental or learning disabilities, language and/or hearing disorders, reading difficulties/delays, Autism, ADHD and Dyslexia. Many of you might know this already, but a passion of mine over the last several years was volunteering at Tiegerman - both my husband and I have been Board members, and in 2019 I was named their first female Board chair. Tiegerman was started in 1985, a small preschool and elementary school program with 36 students. We've since grown and today we are 5 schools strong. Our program offers pre-K through High School. We have 2 resident homes that allow young men to live independently, as well as a day program and a weekend respite program. We also work in partnership with Tommy Hilfiger and Calvin Klein (PVH) to provide our students with vocational training by having retail stores set-up in our school. How exciting it's been to speak at our High School graduations as so many of our students get ready to take the next step - COLLEGE! Under the direction of our founder, Dr. Ellenmorris-Tiegerman and Dr. Christine Radziewicz, a team of dedicated professionals, teachers and staff have changed the lives of thousands of children, young adults and their families. I encourage you to visit www.tiegerman.org to learn more about Tiegerman and why I am so passionate about our mission. It's contagious! Thank-you for the opportunity to work and collaborate with so many of you the last 25+ years. Wishing you all much success; I hope our paths cross in the future.
